Ecuador Country Manager

Gowan Crop Protection is looking for a Country Manager for the Ecuador Region. This position will report into the Head of LATAM Region.



Examples of Specific Duties:

    • Build and implement the mid-long-term strategy for the country business and manage the execution of the short term plan
    • Align and execute local strategy with regional and global strategies.
    • Develop specific focus for target crops such Banana, Flowers and Avocado
    • Obtain clear, achievable annual forecasts from distributors/resellers to which we can efficiently produce finished goods
    • Provide insights from growers, distributors in order to fine-tune the regional marketing strategy.
    • Design annual product/brand plans and support longer term projections to achieve sales/profit objectives in close collaboration with regional and global teams.
    • Provide input into and communicate adjustments to sales terms and product prices annually to ensure balance and efficiency.
    • Identify and execute distribution changes and other go-to-market elements.
    • Provide input into annual budgeting process to ensure proper growth and/or defense of products to align with product strategies
    • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards and ensuring  staff member compliance
    • Attend to global meetings in USA, Mexico, Colombia, UK and Brazil
    • Represent Gowan in different annual meetings such as Acorbat and Corbana

Minimum Qualifications:

    • English Language. Ability to conduct a meeting in English, explain in detail a business case and communicate effectively with peers in English
    • Extensive experience in sales and marketing of crop protection in the region with an in-depth understanding of the banana business.
    • Demonstrated capability to influence and effectively manage senior managers of distributors and resellers including those in purchasing, technical and sales positions.
    • Education in Agronomics, Business, Marketing with understanding of basic financial indicators

    • Extensive experience in CP sector in the region
    • Strong, favorable relationships with the region’s channel members
    • Highly motivated to succeed and contribute to Gowan’s success
    • A demonstrated history of successful development of tactics and especially execution of those tactics
    • Goal-oriented with a strong drive for sustainable growth
    • Demonstrated relationship and rapport-building skills
    • Clear bias to collaboration to achieve results
    • Effective management of resources to ensure greatest return on investment
    • Excellent communications skills
