Director, Security Operations

**Overview:** - 1Password is a company focused on creating a safer digital future, valuing simplicity, honesty, and human-centric problem-solving. - The company is committed to customer privacy and security, with a passionate Security Team. - Seeking an experienced security leader to grow and mature the Security Operations function. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead and expand a high-performing security team. - Manage individual contributors and other managers. - Serve as the hiring manager for new engineers and analysts. - Guide the team's vision, roadmaps, and priorities. - Establish and maintain effective communication across departments. - Provide leadership during and after security incidents. - Develop and execute blameless mitigation and remediation plans. - Partner with legal and privacy professionals to assess and mitigate risks. - Evaluate application security issues with existing teams for long-term risk reduction. - Participate in on-call rotation and incident management process streamlining. - Manage team budgets, external consultants, and service provider contracts. **Requirements/Skills/Qualifications:** - 8+ years leading cybersecurity, detection, response, and/or corporate security programs. - 4+ years managing individual contributors and other managers. - Significant experience across the entire IR lifecycle, including SIEM, threat detection, and incident response. - Practical experience with security infrastructure and corporate security practices. - Demonstrated software development experience with Go, Ruby on Rails, shell scripting, Python, etc. - Experience with digital forensics, incident response, and legal counsel during security incidents. - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with empathy and advocacy for the team. - Experience collaborating across departments and with external teams. - USA-based roles: Annual base salary $255,000 - $345,000 USD. - Canada-based roles: Annual base salary $241,000 CAD - $325,000 CAD. **Compensation & Benefits:** - Competitive base salary with immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program. - Generous paid time off policy. - Company equity and retirement matching program. - Training budget, access to 1Password University, and learning sessions. - Free 1Password account for friends and family. - Paid volunteer days and employee-led DEIB programs. - Flexibility to work from home country. - Background check may include various checks as permitted by local law. - Equal opportunity employer with accommodations available upon request.
