Senior Privacy Engineer

**Overview:** - 1Password is a company focused on creating a safer digital future with a culture valuing simplicity, honesty, and human-centric problem-solving. - The company is committed to customer privacy and security, with a Security Team passionate about their mission. - Seeking an experienced privacy engineer to join a collaborative team, with a remote opportunity in Canada and the US. **Key Responsibilities:** - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build infrastructure, technical controls, and programs enhancing security and privacy. - Translate technical, legal, and regulatory requirements into engineering and operational execution. - Develop and implement scalable privacy programs, processes, tools, and infrastructure. - Advise on technical design and application of privacy technologies and solutions. - Conduct privacy assessments and develop technical proposals to solve privacy issues. - Partner with legal counsel to ensure compliance with privacy laws. - Drive development and adoption of internal privacy policies and guidelines. - Occasional in-person travel for engagement, with frequency depending on role and responsibilities. **Requirements/Skills/Qualifications:** - Minimum of 7 years of combined experience in privacy or security. - Proven ability to translate requirements into execution. - Deep subject matter expertise in core technical privacy concepts and familiarity with global privacy regulations. - Exceptional collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills. - Strong ability to influence and negotiate for positive outcomes. - Ability to balance privacy excellence goals with legal, technical, and business needs. - Willingness to manage competing priorities and proactively drive resolution. - CIPP/US, CIPP/EU, CIPM, or CIPT privacy certification is a plus. **Compensation & Benefits:** - USA-based roles: Annual base salary between $153,000 USD and $207,000 USD, plus benefits program, paid time off, equity grant, and incentive programs. - Canada-based roles: Annual base salary between $140,000 CAD and $190,000 CAD, plus benefits program, paid time off, equity grant, and incentive programs. - Health and wellbeing programs, growth and future opportunities, flexibility, and community support. - Equal opportunity employer, accommodations available upon request. - Background check may include various checks as permitted by local law. - Automated employment decision tool used in the recruitment process.
