Accounting Manager

Overview: - Brightwheel seeks an Accounting Manager to join their growing Accounting team. - The role involves driving key areas including accounting, reporting, internal controls, and compliance. - The company is passionate, talented, and customer-focused, with a fully remote team. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare financial statements and journal entries related to payroll and other transactions. - Drive improvement for the month-end and year-end close process. - Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. - Maintain procure-to-pay platform and update sales tax filings for various states. - Assist with audits and tax returns as needed. - Ensure compliance with GAAP principles. Requirements/Skills/Qualifications: - BS degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred. - 5-7 years of public accounting experience. - Knowledge of GAAP and familiar with financial accounting statements. - Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. - Process improvement mindset. - Experience working with NetSuite Oracle, TaxJar, Avalara, Airbase, Floquast.
