Staff Software Engineer, Backend

Overview: - Lime, a leading shared electric vehicle company, seeks an experienced Backend Software Engineer to contribute to the company's mission of transforming urban transportation. - The role involves designing and building core technology for connected vehicles, crafting backend systems, and improving operational tools for a rapidly expanding fleet. Key Responsibilities: - Identify and solve strategic technical problems, including architecting scalable platforms and leading new product initiatives. - Make critical technology and architecture decisions, often as the decider. - Lead cross-functional collaboration with various teams, including PMs, Engineers, Design, Data Scientists, Research, and Operations. - Mentor and develop future leaders within the engineering team. - Advise Lime’s leadership on technology adoption and process improvements. - Contribute to shaping the engineering culture at Lime. Requirements/Skills/Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years of industry professional software development experience. - Proven track record of building impactful products or systems. - Customer-obsessed, data-driven, owner’s mindset, outcomes-oriented, strong influencer, and strong collaborator. - Technical proficiency in project and idea design and implementation. - Experience in partnering with other leads from engineering, product, operations, and compliance. - Excellent communication and effective prioritization skills. - Passionate about Lime's mission and micromobility. - Preferred: Expertise in cloud infrastructure and Ruby on Rails.
