Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Overview: - Senior Infrastructure Engineer role at Xero, focusing on automating processes and ensuring robust, scalable, and cost-effective infrastructure for Xero customers and partners. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with Infrastructure engineers, Developers, Principal Engineers, and Product Managers. - Design and implement cloud-based infrastructure and tooling using AWS services. - Develop and implement automation processes for testing, deployment, and rollback. - Create Infrastructure as Code templates for cloud resource provisioning and configuration. - Optimize observability and monitoring practices with tools like New Relic, Cloudwatch, and Sumologic. - Coach and mentor engineers on programming best practices and engineering excellence. Requirements/Skills/Qualifications: - Experience with technologies used throughout the SDLC, including Git, Github Actions, Terraform, Docker, AWS deployment tools, and monitoring tools. - Broad knowledge of networking, Linux, Docker, AWS ECS, EventStore, Postgres, and PaaS/IaaS services offered by AWS. - Proficiency in .Net, Python, and CI/CD concepts and tooling. - Experience in improving release processes and deployment pipelines with blue/green deployments, canary releases, testing in production, and feature flagging. - Experience in DevOps, Release Engineering, Development, or similar roles. - Passion for mentoring junior team members.
