Technical Duty Officers

Overview: - Xero is a platform supporting small businesses and their advisors globally. - The Incident and Problem Management team is part of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) organization. - The team focuses on building, delivering, and maintaining robust process and tooling for incident management. Key Responsibilities: - Drive enduring reliability across Xero products and services. - Provide expert leadership during critical outages. - Lead and advocate for SRE transformation within the Engineering Department. - Address and mitigate global customer environment issues. - Develop scalable process frameworks and observability strategies. - Collaborate with product teams to analyze failures and improve service reliability. Requirements/Skills/Qualifications: - Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer in Operations or Engineering. - Hands-on experience troubleshooting AWS hosted services. - Networking knowledge and ability to troubleshoot TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, DNSSEC, IPsec, and BGP issues. - Coding experience, preferably in Python, for building tools, scripting, or automation. - Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to translate technical issues into agreed actions.
